"Last night, I had a dream about being hungry. In my dream, I walked through a city full of food. Street vendors sold hot noodles. Bakeries displayed fresh bread. Restaurants smelled of roasted meat and fried rice. My stomach growled. I was so hungry it hurt. I reached into my pocket. No money. Empty. I stopped at a noodle stand. "Please," I said. "Just a little. I haven't eaten in two days." The vendor waved his hand. "No money, no food. Go away." At a bakery, I asked for a piece of old bread. Even a crumb. The woman looked at me with cold eyes. "We don't give food to beggars." People walked past me with full bags of groceries. They ate sandwiches as they walked. They threw half-eaten food into trash cans. I opened a trash can. Just ashes and plastic. A child stood nearby, eating an apple. He took one bite and threw the rest on the ground. "Can I have that?" I asked. He looked at me, then at the apple. He stepped on it and crushed it into the dirt. "It's dirty now," he laughed, and ran away. I sat on the cold ground. My hunger was a fire inside me. My hands shook. My head spun. A stray dog came to me. He had a bone in his mouth. He dropped it in front of me and looked at me with kind eyes. Even a dog had more than me. Then I woke up. My stomach hurt. But it was just a dream. I walked to my kitchen and opened my fridge. It was full. Rice, eggs, vegetables, milk. So much food. I sat down and ate breakfast slowly. I did not waste a single bite. Some people are hungry in real life. Not in dreams. That thought stayed with me all day."
