Talking Monkey in Jungle: Joy & Belonging Meaning & Interpretation

"Last night, I had a dream about a monkey. In my dream, I walked through a jungle. Huge leaves brushed my face. Strange birds sang in the trees. I was lost, but I was not scared. Something small jumped on my shoulder. A monkey! Brown fur, bright eyes, and a long tail that curled around my neck like a scarf. "Hello!" I said. He looked at me. Then he did something amazing. He smiled. A real smile, like a human. "Hello!" he said back. His voice was squeaky and funny. I laughed. "You can talk?" "Of course!" he said, jumping to a lower branch. "All monkeys can talk. You humans just never listen." He swung from tree to tree. "Follow me! I'll show you my home!" I followed him through the jungle. We jumped over small streams. We ducked under giant leaves. We ran under a waterfall and got completely wet. It felt wonderful. Finally, we reached a tall tree. In it, twenty monkeys sat on branches, watching us. "My family!" my new friend shouted. The monkeys came down. They touched my hair. They pulled my ears. They checked my pockets. One stole my sunglasses and put them on upside down. Everyone laughed. Even me. Then the leader, an old monkey with a white beard, handed me a coconut. "Drink," he said. The coconut water was sweet and cold. The best thing I ever tasted. We spent the whole afternoon together. The monkeys taught me to swing from vines. I taught them to shake hands. We were friends already. When the sun set, my monkey friend hugged me. "Come back soon," he said. Then I woke up. I was in my bed, smiling. My pillow was hugged tight to my chest. It was the best dream ever. And I will never look at monkeys the same way again."
