"I walked up to an old house. It looked empty. The door was half open. It made a squeaking sound. I pushed it open. Dust filled the air. The floor was broken. Cobwebs hung everywhere. I heard a noise upstairs. Something was moving. I wanted to leave. But my feet walked forward. I climbed the stairs. They creaked under me. I saw a room at the end. The door was closed. I opened it slowly. Inside was a rocking chair. It was moving. No one was sitting in it. I backed away. I felt cold air on my neck. I turned around. No one was there. I ran down the stairs. The door slammed shut. I tried to open it. It was locked. I heard footsteps behind me. They got closer. I banged on the door. "Let me out!" The footsteps stopped. I felt a hand on my shoulder. I woke up screaming. I was in my bed. I turned on all the lights. I stayed awake until morning. I never want to see that house again."

Core Theme

"This dream reflects a return to repressed childhood emotions, symbolized by the abandoned house. The house represents the dreamer's inner psyche, where forgotten memories and suppressed feelings have been neglected. The fear of confronting these hidden aspects causes a defensive wakefulness, preserving the repression."

Only by turning on the light of awareness can the dreamer find peace and stop the frightening recurrence of such dreams.
