"I was at some outdoor family gathering, I think a barbecue, but nobody was grilling anything and everyone just stood around holding plates. I looked at the horizon and there was a tornado, just casually in the distance, skinny and grey. I pointed it out and my uncle went "huh" and went back to his conversation. That part felt weird even in the dream. Then there were more of them. Like six, maybe seven, scattered across the sky at different distances. And I kept trying to get people to go inside but the house wasn't there anymore when I turned around, just a fence. So I stood there deciding which tornado looked like it was coming for us, like I could somehow pick the right one to worry about. I remember running at some point, or maybe just walking really fast, toward my car, but my keys were in my other pants which I was somehow also wearing? That logic made total sense at the time. The wind was picking up and I could hear that classic roaring sound everyone describes, and my heart was pounding so hard I could feel it in my ears. The last thing before I woke up, one of the tornadoes just kind of leaned over toward me, slow and deliberate, and I remember thinking "so this is how it happens" with this strange calm. Then I was awake and I could still hear wind for a second, but it was just the fan."
