The Ex, the fries, and the train Station goodbye

"My ex and I were sitting in a parked car, sharing fries. I don't remember deciding to see him, but it felt normal, like we had only been apart for a weekend. He talked about his day, except everything he described had happened to me. I wanted to point that out, but didn't want to ruin the mood. Then we were suddenly in a house full of people congratulating us. I asked what for. He squeezed my hand and said, “You know.” Later, I was packing a suitcase while he waited by the door. I couldn't find my clothes, only his old shirts. When I asked if he was leaving, he looked surprised and said he'd been waiting for me to leave first. Then we were at a train station, sitting on opposite benches. I kept thinking one of us should say something, but neither did. He smiled through the crowd, and I woke up unsure whether I missed him or just the feeling of knowing what came next."
