The shedding of old Skin in an open Field

"I was standing somewhere open, field maybe, and noticed my hands looked different, not wrong exactly, just new, and instead of freaking out I got this rush, wanted to see more of it happening. My skin kept shifting, something coming loose and falling away like old paint peeling, no pain to it, just this lightness spreading up my arms. kept flexing my fingers watching them change, buzzing with anticipation the whole time. The wind picked up around me, pushing the old pieces off into the air, gone before they hit ground. felt taller somehow, or just different, hard to pin down exactly what changed. I wanted to run, no destination, just needing to move with all this new energy. started going, ground stretching out ahead, colors way more vivid than normal. woke up still holding onto that buzzing feeling, like I'd been right on the edge of arriving somewhere."
