The cockroach That crossed My desk

"I'm at my desk working. And a cockroach crawls across it. Big one. Brown. Just. Walking. Slow. Right past my keyboard. Past my coffee. And I didn't move. Just watched it. Followed it with my eyes. All the way across. To the other edge. And then it went over. And I went back to work. My coworker asked if I saw it and I said "yeah." And she said "aren't you gonna do something" and I said "it's gone now." And she looked at me weird and went back to her desk. And I kept typing. It came back later. Same roach maybe. Or a different one. Crawled up the leg of my desk. Across my papers. And I lifted my coffee cup so it could pass. Just. Lifted it. And it walked by. And I put my cup back down. And kept working. I woke up and checked my desk. Nothing. Just my stuff. I got up and made coffee and sat down at my actual desk and worked all day. Didn't see a single bug. But I kept glancing at the edge of the desk. Just in case. Not scared. Just. Watching."
