"It wasn't even hurting. That's what got me. I just noticed it in the mirror, wiggling when I pushed it with my tongue. So I did what you do. I reached in. It came out way too easy. No resistance. Just this wet little pop and it was sitting in my palm, root and all, way longer than it should've been. I remember staring at it like, huh. Then I had another one loose. And another. I kept pulling them and they kept coming, and I wasn't even trying anymore, my hand just kept going back to my mouth. Somewhere in there my grandmother was calling me for dinner but I couldn't answer because my mouth was full. The weird thing is I wasn't panicking. I was mostly worried about where to put them. I kept finding more pockets. None of them were mine. I woke up and checked with my tongue. All still there. Took me a minute though."

Core Theme

"This dream reflects a quiet, unsettling loss of control in which parts of you come away too easily, without pain or resistance. The absence of panic suggests you are not being destroyed but emptied—slowly, almost politely—while the borrowed pockets hint that you are carrying what falls away in spaces that were never yours to begin with."

Hidden Emotions and Symbols

✦ Teeth

Represent personal power, speech, and the structures that hold you together, now loosening without warning.

✦ Mirror

Reflects self-scrutiny and the moment you witness your own unraveling from the outside.

✦ Grandmother Calling For Dinner

Indicates an ordinary, nurturing rhythm of life that you cannot answer because you are too full of what you are losing.

✦ Pockets That Are Not Yours

Signify borrowed roles, identities, or responsibilities absorbing what you shed, leaving you unsure where your own pieces belong.

✦ Tongue Checking After Waking

Reflects the lingering need to verify that you are still intact, and the delayed relief that follows.

Insight

Loss does not always announce itself with pain; sometimes it slips out quietly while you watch. The dream asks you to notice what you are carrying in pockets that were never yours, and to ask whether the parts falling away were ever truly holding you together.
