The silent Uncle at the family Dinner

"I was at a family dinner, everyone talking over each other like usual, when my uncle suddenly went quiet. I didn't notice at first because I was arguing with my cousin about something dumb. Then I looked over and he was slumped in his chair, and nobody was moving. I kept saying we should call someone, but my phone wouldn't work. The screen kept showing old photos instead of the keypad. I remember feeling more frustrated than scared at first, like the phone was failing me on purpose. Then we were in a hospital waiting room, except it was empty and the lights flickered. A nurse came out but never said his name. I just knew. I woke up before anyone told me anything, and I lay there for a while feeling that heavy, sick feeling like I'd actually lost someone."
