Mice in the kitchen: A surreal Warning

"I was sitting at the kitchen table eating dry cereal straight from the box, except the cereal pieces kept turning into tiny, soft white mice as soon as they touched my hand. At first I didn’t think it was weird at all; I was actually trying to feed them like little birds, even though a part of me felt this nagging worry that they were going to climb up my sleeves. Suddenly the floorboards started shifting, and hundreds of them—all different colors, some wearing little knitted hats—poured out from under the oven. They weren't scrambling away or anything; they were just walking in neat little circles, humming this low, vibrating sound that felt like it was echoing inside my own teeth. I tried to stand up on a chair, but my legs felt totally disconnected from my body, heavy and sluggish. Then I was somehow looking down at myself from the ceiling light fixture, watching the carpet of mice spell out words I couldn't quite read before everything just went completely quiet and faded out."
