The ocean Beyond the parking Garage

"I was on the top level of a parking garage and there was water. Not flooding it. Just... there, past the edge, where the city should've been. A whole ocean, flat and grey, going out to nothing. I walked to the edge and looked down. My car was four levels below and I could see it perfectly through the water. Clear as anything. I remember thinking I should go get it but I didn't move. Somebody's radio was playing in the stairwell. Something old. I hummed along. Then it was evening and the water had a light on it and I sat down on the concrete with my legs hanging over. I wasn't scared of falling. I wasn't scared of anything. Just sat there watching it not move. I woke up and my mouth was dry. Got up and drank a glass of water standing at the sink, looking out the window at the street. Just street. No ocean. Drank the whole glass. Filled it again."
