"I dreamed I was six months pregnant, with a big round belly that made it hard to bend down and tie my shoes. I kept touching my stomach because I could feel the baby moving, little kicks that made me laugh and then worry a few seconds later. The strange thing was, I couldn't remember who the father was or when I'd found out I was pregnant. I was walking through a supermarket, trying to buy baby clothes, but all the tiny outfits were hanging too high for me to reach. An old woman helped me get one down and told me I should rest more. I wanted to ask her how she knew anything about me, but suddenly we were sitting in my childhood kitchen, eating soup with my mother. She acted as if my pregnancy was completely normal. I felt excited, but there was this nagging thought that I'd forgotten something important. I woke up with my hand resting on my stomach, still feeling the baby's little kicks."

Jungian Analysis
Core Theme

"This dream reflects a period of profound inner growth and anticipation, where the joy of new beginnings is shadowed by uncertainty about origins and readiness. The inability to remember the father and the unreachable baby clothes suggest a feeling of unpreparedness or a disconnection from the source of this new phase. The supportive figures and the familiar childhood setting indicate that guidance and nurturing are available, even as you grapple with a sense of forgotten responsibility."

Wisdom

New life, whether literal or symbolic, asks you to embrace both its excitement and its unknowns. When you cannot reach what you need, allow others to help, and remember that rest is not a delay but a necessary part of growth. The forgotten father may simply mean that the origin of this change is less important than your willingness to carry it forward with care.
