The earthquake That reached Across the sea

"I was standing in a street I couldn't quite place when the ground began to shake. At first it was a low rumble, then it grew violent, throwing me off balance. Around me, buildings groaned and cracked, and chunks of stone crumbled and fell. People were shouting, but their voices were swallowed by the roar of the earth. Panic rose in my chest, hot and fast. I tried to run, but the ground kept moving beneath my feet, and nowhere felt safe. I had never dreamed of anything like this before. It felt random and strange, and yet utterly real. Then I woke up, my body still trembling, my heart pounding in the dark. Half-shaken, I grabbed my phone and checked the news. And there it was: a 4.2 magnitude earthquake in Naples of Italy, my hometown, which had struck while I was asleep. One of the strongest the city had felt in forty years. I no longer lived in Italy, but so much of my family was still there, and the dream suddenly felt like more than a dream."
