The Familiar Stranger on the Train: A Dream of Meaning & Interpretation

"I sat on the train. A man sat across from me. I did not know him. But he looked familiar. He smiled at me. He said, "I know you." I shook my head. "I do not think so." He laughed. "You will remember soon." I looked at his face. I tried to place him. Nothing came to mind. I felt so confused. He handed me a note. "Open it later," he said. I wanted to ask more. The train stopped. He stood up. He walked to the door. "Wait!" I called. He did not turn back. He got off the train. He disappeared into the crowd. I opened the note. It was blank. I felt so strange. Who was that man? I looked out the window. He was gone. I woke up feeling confused. I thought about him all day. Why did he seem so familiar? I never found out who he was."
