"So I'm at my funeral. Standing in the back. Nobody can see me, which I figured out pretty quick when I tried to tap someone on the shoulder and my hand went through them. Not spooky. Just inconvenient. And the whole time I'm standing there listening to people talk about me and getting annoyed because they kept getting stuff wrong. My cousin said I loved fishing. I've never been fishing in my life. Not once. And I'm standing right behind her going "I don't fish, I've never fished, who told you I fished" and she just keeps talking. Somebody said I was "always the life of the party" which is also wrong, I hated parties, I went to maybe four parties in my entire life and left early from three of them. My mom was in the front row. She looked wrecked. And I wanted to go to her but I couldn't figure out how, and every time I tried to move toward her the room kind of stretched and she got farther away. So I just stayed in the back and watched and kept correcting people in my head. Then the casket was open and I walked up to look at myself and it wasn't me. It was some guy in a suit. Completely different face. And I turned to the person next to me, some aunt I barely know, and said "that's not me" and of course she couldn't hear me, and I stood there staring at this stranger in my casket getting more and more confused. Somebody had the wrong body. At my funeral. And nobody noticed. I woke up and sat up fast, like checking I was still in my own body. Ran my hands over my face. My face. All there. I got up and walked around the apartment and everything felt a little too real for a while. Kept touching things. The counter. The doorframe. My own arm. Just to make sure. Made coffee and stood in the kitchen and thought about that casket. I still don't know who that guy was. I hope somebody claimed him."
