White snake and grandmother's ribbon of awakening

"I was getting ready for bed when I saw a white snake curled up in the bathtub. It was almost the same color as the porcelain, so at first I thought it was a towel. Then it moved its head and looked directly at me. I didn't want to get any closer, but I also didn't want to leave it there. I went to find someone to help, although I couldn't decide who. When I came back, the bathtub was empty. The snake was on the hallway floor instead. It moved slowly, not really chasing me, but it always seemed to be wherever I was trying to go. I shut myself in the kitchen and stood on a chair while it slid underneath the door. My grandmother was suddenly sitting at the table. I asked her if she could see the snake, and she said it was harmless as long as I didn't touch it. Then she reached down and picked it up like it was a piece of string. The snake wrapped around her wrist. She didn't react, but I started crying and asked her to put it down. She told me it had been waiting for me. When I looked again, the snake was gone and there was a white ribbon around my own wrist. I woke up trying to pull it off."
