The hawk's silver Coin

"i was walking down this narrow dirt path behind a row of old brick houses, trying to find a missing receipt so i could return a bicycle. the weather was super windy and cold, and the sky was this dark, stormy blue. then i noticed this sharp red-tailed hawk perched right on top of a rotting fence post, only a couple feet away from me. it had its feathers all puffed up against the chill, and it was holding a small silver coin in its talons. i completely froze, expecting it to take off as soon as i moved, but it just turned its head with this super fast, jerky motion and stared directly at me. its eyes were bright yellow and so sharp it felt like it was looking right through me. i reached out my hand really slowly, not even thinking about whether it would bite me, because i had this sudden overwhelming urge to take the coin. then without even making a sound, it spread its wings--they were way wider than a real hawk's--and launched itself off the fence straight past my head. the force of the wind from its wings nearly knocked me over, and my heart was just pounding with this crazy rush of adrenaline. then suddenly i was standing in a crowded grocery store aisle holding the silver coin, still hearing the wind whipping past my ears and feeling this intense, thrilling energy in my chest."
