"I was in a crowded room trying to tell everyone something important. I knew exactly what I wanted to say, but when I opened my mouth, nothing came out. Not even a whisper. People kept looking at me, waiting. I tried again and my throat made this dry clicking sound. Someone laughed, and then everyone started talking over me like I wasn't there. I grabbed a pen and tried writing it down, but the words on the page kept changing. I wrote "help" and it turned into my name. Then my name became a grocery list. Suddenly I was in a car with my sister. I was trying to warn her about something outside, but she had the music turned up and wouldn't look at me. I hit the window until my hand hurt. The car stopped in front of a house. I ran inside and found my old teacher standing in the hallway. She asked me a question, and I finally managed to speak, but my voice came out in someone else's voice. I woke up before I could understand what I had said. My throat felt tight for a few seconds afterward."
