The shattered Phone and the dry Soup

"I was standing on a wet sidewalk outside a closed pharmacy trying to call my landlord to tell him about a leaking pipe, but as soon as I pulled my phone out of my jacket, the whole glass screen just shattered into thousands of tiny spiderweb cracks. I tapped the screen frantically to unlock it, but the glass felt like soft, wet gelatin under my thumbs and the digits kept sloughing off onto the pavement like black paint. I wiped the screen on my sleeve, getting so ridiculously furious because the phone started making this loud, annoying buzzing noise and dialing random emergency numbers on its own. I slammed it against the side of a metal mailbox to try and make it shut up, but the battery just swelled up like a warm balloon. then all of a sudden I was sitting on a plastic lawn chair in my high school cafeteria trying to eat a bowl of dry soup, still seething with rage and staring at my sticky hands while everyone around me kept whispering."
