The badge That wouldn't scan: A workplace Dread

"I was walking into work, normal morning, except my badge wouldn't scan at the door, just kept flashing red no matter how many times I tried. Someone let me in eventually, didn't look at me right though, like they already knew something I didn't. The desk was cleared out when I got to it, not my stuff on it anymore, someone else's mug sitting there instead. I tried logging into my computer and the password just didn't work, kept getting rejected, no error message explaining why. I went looking for my manager to ask what was going on and every office I checked had someone different in it, None of them my manager, none of them seeming to notice I was even talking. tried explaining I still worked there and the words came out thin, unconvincing even to me. The hallways kept extending, meeting rooms full of people I didn't know, all of them busy, nobody with time to explain. That dread just kept building, no answer ever landing, right up until I woke up already reaching for my phone to check if I'd actually been fired."
