Moths in the kitchen: A gentle Communion

"There are moths in my kitchen. Little pale ones. Dozens. Just floating around. In the light over the stove. And I'm cooking. Stirring something. And they're just there. Around my head. Around the pot. One landed on my arm. And I looked at it. And it just sat there. Fanning its wings. Slow. And I didn't brush it off. Just watched it. And then went back to stirring. And it stayed there. On my arm. The whole time. They weren't landing in the food. Just. Flying around it. Like they were keeping me company. And I remember thinking "this is nice." Moths. In my kitchen. Nice. And I ate my dinner standing up. With a moth on my arm. And it stayed. Until I finished. I woke up and my arm felt light. I got up and checked the kitchen. Nothing. Just the light over the stove. I made breakfast. And I left the light on. Just in case. Weird thing to do. But I did it."
