"I dreamed my old cat was sitting on the windowsill in my apartment, even though she's been gone for years. At first I didn't question it. I just felt relieved she was there and went to pick her up, but she kept stepping away from me, like she wanted me to follow. She led me into a room that doesn't exist in my apartment. It was painted pale blue and full of boxes with my name on them. She jumped onto one of the boxes and looked at me, and I suddenly remembered in the dream that she had died. It hit me all over again, like I’d forgotten and been reminded in the worst way. Then she walked through the closed window without breaking it. Outside was this quiet field under a gray sky. I wanted to go after her, but I couldn't make the window open. She looked back once, slowly blinked at me, and then I woke up crying a little."

Core Theme

"This dream reflects a tender encounter with grief that refuses to stay buried. Your cat, a symbol of comfort and unconditional love, returns not to be held but to guide you into a hidden room of your own heart—a place where forgotten sorrows are stored. Her slow blink and silent departure suggest that what you long for cannot be grasped, only honored. The dream invites you to follow the trail of your own sadness, even when the way forward seems closed."

Reflection

Grief is not a problem to solve but a room to enter. When you stop trying to hold what has already gone, you may find that the one you lost is still leading you—not back to the past, but deeper into your own heart. The closed window is not a failure; it is a reminder that some journeys must be made in their own time, and that a slow blink can carry more comfort than any embrace.
