The friend Who came Back for cereal

"I dreamed my friend who died was sitting in my kitchen, eating cereal like nothing had happened. I didn't question it at first. We were just talking about some dumb show we used to watch, and I remember laughing so hard my stomach hurt. Then I remembered, all at once, that he was gone. I didn't say anything because I didn't want him to disappear. He kept talking, but his voice started getting quieter, like he was standing farther away even though he hadn't moved. At some point we were outside at night, walking down a street from middle school. He told me not to worry about him, but I kept asking if he was okay. He just smiled and kept walking ahead of me. I woke up before I could catch up, and I lay there for a while wishing I could go back into the dream."
