"I was in a field behind my childhood house and the grass was up to my chest. I wasn't running yet. I just knew I would be. Then I heard it behind me. Not hissing. More like something big dragging through the grass. I didn't turn around. I just started running and the grass kept getting taller, up to my chin, then my eyes, and I was pushing through it like water. I looked back once. It was huge. Black. It wasn't moving fast but it didn't need to, it was just always closer somehow. I tried to scream for my brother but my voice came out tiny. I reached the back door and it was locked. Of course it was. I pounded on it. Nobody came. Then I was in the kitchen and it was in the kitchen and there was no in between. It was just there, coiled by the fridge, calm. I stood on a chair. It didn't try to climb. It just looked at me. We stayed like that. I woke up with my legs tangled in the sheet, which, honestly, tracks."

Spiritual Analysis
Core Theme

"This dream reflects a confrontation with an inescapable, slow-moving fear rooted in childhood spaces. The locked door and silent brother suggest feelings of abandonment or helplessness, while the final standoff on the chair indicates a shift from panic to a tense, watchful stillness. The snake's calm gaze mirrors your own frozen vigilance, inviting you to meet fear without fleeing."

Hidden Emotions and Symbols

✦ Tall Grass

Reflects overwhelming emotions or obstacles that grow as you try to escape.

✦ Locked Back Door

Indicates a blocked return to safety or a past refuge that no longer protects you.

✦ Brother

Signifies a source of support that feels distant or unresponsive in times of crisis.

✦ Black Snake

Guidance

Fear often moves at its own pace, neither fast nor slow, but always present until you turn and face it. The locked door and silent brother may point to old wounds of not being rescued; yet the final standoff shows you can hold your ground, even from a chair. True safety may not come from escape but from meeting the coiled shadow with calm curiosity, allowing it to lose its power to chase.
