Pinned by wet Cement

"i was trying to get up from the sofa to check on a dog i heard barking in the yard, but my legs felt like they were completely filled with wet cement. i tried to lean forward and swing my feet onto the rug, but my body just wouldn't answer any of the signals my brain was sending. it was like my muscles had been unplugged from my head, leaving me pinned flat against the cushions under this crushing, invisible weight. i could hear footsteps shuffling down the hallway right outside the door, coming closer really slowly, and this cold, icy terror started flooding through my chest. i tried so hard to scream out for help or even just make a noise, but when i opened my mouth, only this tiny, pathetic breath came out. i strained every single muscle in my neck and shoulders, trying to force just one finger to twitch so i could roll onto the floor, but nothing moved at all. then suddenly i was sitting in the backseat of a parked car looking at rain on the windshield, still completely paralyzed while the radio blared loud static, terrified that whatever was walking down that hallway was going to reach the door before i could figure out how to lift my head."
