Glass kitchen Storm and the forgotten Lamp

"I was sitting in my old childhood kitchen, but all the walls were made of clear glass like a sunroom. It was pitch black outside, and suddenly this massive storm hit out of nowhere. Huge cracks of lightning were lighting up the sky every few seconds, turning everything bright purple, but there was zero thunder—just total, eerie silence. I knew I needed to go close the front door so the storm wouldn't blow in, but every time I tried to walk toward it, I ended up standing right back in the middle of the kitchen. Then all at once I was standing out in the middle of a flooded grocery store parking lot. The rain was hitting my face so hard it stung, and the wind was howling through the shopping carts. I wasn't scared about getting wet or hit by lightning, though; I was just intensely worried that I had forgotten to turn off my bedroom lamp. I kept staring up at the clouds rolling over each other like black waves, trying to figure out how I got outside in my socks."
